Sue Molyneaux, an artist here on IK, has kindly said:-- I love the contrasts between the linear man-made objects and the organic objects. The framing of the handrails within the photo is very visually clever. The close horizontal rail cuts the angled rails of the stairway, so the eye is drawn to the lower third of the photo, then led into the photo both in terms of placement (into the middle) and the image itself (the centre). A great use of varying height (start high, drop down with the staircase and path, then travel up again with the lighthouse) and the fact that these visual reference points are all red, is intriguing. And aside from all of that, I love the moss on the roof (man-made vs organic) and the lighthouse on the rock (organic vs man-made). Great image!
